Chat is good for an exchange. Work is for an outcome with several steps: research the issue, use the permitted sources, build the deliverable and show you what it did.
Switch from Chat to Work. Give it the whole outcome, the audience, source material, constraints and how success will be judged. Work can plan the stages, use connected apps and permitted files, and pause for your answer or approval. You can watch and redirect it as it goes.
The result can be a document, spreadsheet, presentation or report rather than another answer in a chat box. It can also create a Site: an interactive website or lightweight app such as a tracker, dashboard or internal portal. Work can surface questions before completion and you can preview and refine the result before sharing or publishing it. The Windows app can also use local files when you give permission.
Work can also continue on a schedule. A task can run once, repeat, or monitor for a meaningful change and notify you. Open Scheduled to manage it. This is a separate area, not a panel inside Work, but it belongs in the same story: work moving forward while you are away. Check the timing, source access and notification before leaving it unattended.
Use Work when you can name the finished product, not just the next question. Stay available for judgement calls, then review the evidence and the deliverable before it goes to anyone else. Agent does not mean autopilot.
